P&S History
In 1991, Cathy Blythe took the initiative to develop a weekly program called “Problems & Solutions.” In its original form, P&S was designed for listeners to help listeners with simple, everyday problems. Four years later, Cathy expanded Problems & Solutions to weekday mornings from 9:10 till 10:00 (Central Time) and started including guest experts and national authors in the line-up.The topics on Problems & Solutions range from antique appraisals to cooking. Listeners are encouraged to call-in with questions for the P&S network of experts which includes: a pharmacist, a lawn and garden professional, and automotive experts. Weekly, P&S features an Open Phone Day where listeners can pose minor problems and let other listeners call with solutions. Open Phone Day also allows listeners to find items or products.
Problems and Solutions has been the recipient of first-place awards for service to the community from both the Nebraska Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press. In addition, Cathy Blythe is in the Nebraska Radio Personalities Hall of Fame. She is a two-time Marconi winner, being honored as National Personality of the Year by the National Association of Broadcasters in 2002 and 2005. The Marconi Award is the highest award given in broadcasting.
We hope you get as much fulfillment from listening to Problems & Solutions as we do from bringing it to you.
