Compulsive Hoarding

Our guest in an encore show is clinical psychologist Dr. Fugen Neziroglu, author of the book Overcoming Compulsive Hoarding...Why You Save & How You Can Stop. This is a very serious problem. People who engage in compulsive hoarding behaviors begin with an ordinary number of possessions, but as time goes on, the hoarder continues to purchase or collect more items and the items begin to multiply and multiply. This continues until the person is living in chaos, often with their possessions in piles or stacks spread throughout their home and in extreme disarray. Dr. Neziroglu will define the problem in detail and provide some potential solutions.

Hoarding

People who engage in compulsive hoarding behaviors begin with an ordinary number of possessions, but as time goes on, the hoarder continues to purchase or collect more items and the items begin to multiply and multiply. This continues until the person is living in chaos, often with their possessions in piles or stacks spread throughout their home and in extreme disarray.
